Description

The image on the cover was taken by Ben King to illustrate his story on improvements to a camera he first described in the January 1964 issue of Model Railroader. The camera lowered the perspective of the photo, making the viewer feel as if he was at trackside. Between the time the original article ran and the August 1973 update, six Model Railroader cover images were shot by various photographers who had built the camera for themselves. Clearly, the design worked well!
