We’ve brought back the American Car & Foundry 4,600-cubic-foot capacity three-bay Center Flow covered hopper in a new paint scheme. Milwaukee, Racine & Troy No. 752123 (era: December 1997+), which uses Accurail’s 2000-series tooling, is now offered in the railroad’s Mineral Red paint scheme with white graphics.
The injection-molded plastic kit has a one-piece body with molded end cages, stirrup steps, and grab irons. A single sprue contains most of the kit’s freestanding parts, including the air reservoir, brake cylinder, brake wheel, control valve, draft-gear box covers, hatch cover, outlet gates, and slope sheets.
The underbody casting features molded draft-gear boxes, levers, and shaker brackets. The Accumate knuckle couplers with modeler-installed trip pins, Delrin engineering plastic wheelsets, roller-bearing trucks, and 2-56 screws are packed in a clear plastic pouch. A steel weight is also included. Written and illustrated instructions take modelers through the seven steps to build the kit.
The covered hopper, made in the United States of America, is offered in one road number.
