Duke Hawkins MiG-31 Foxhound

Bearing a passing resemblance to the MiG-25 it replaced, the Russian air force’s Foxhound is a potent interceptor capable of operating close to Mach 3 at high altitude. It also looks cool in the air and muscular on the ground and has been popular with modelers, like me, interested in Soviet and Russian aircraft. This gorgeous 116-page softcover book is brimming with great photography, combining walkarounds and in action images, and detailed captions. The book starts with a brief history of the Foxhound and a discussion of variants. Then, it quickly moves to detail photos of the aircraft section by section from the forward fuselage through the intakes to the rest of the fuselage, wings, cockpit, landing gear, and so on to the engine and ordnance. The last part is stunning photos of the MiG-31 in the air and on the ground. I can tell you that the images of Foxhounds at frozen Russian airbases during winter have inspired one of my upcoming builds.
