Chessie Takes a Train Trip

This endearing story of Chessie the Railroad Kitten features beautifully illustrated and historically- and mechanically-accurate artwork by artist Natalie O'Dell. 

Set in 1935, this 40-page children's book tells the story of how Chessie stows away in the business car of C&O President Harahan as two orphan children sneak on board.  Chessie discovers them and takes them to Harahan, who gives them food and a place to sleep.  Upon their arrival in Richmond, they are adopted by a C&O employee family.
