Description

Five of the Nickel Plate Road’s 2-8-4 Berkshire-type steam locomotives strike a heroic pose for a company photo at Bellevue, Ohio, in October 1945. The railroad relied on these high-performance locomotives for its time-sensitive freight service well into the 1950s, but they succumbed to diesels in 1958. Of the survivors, Fort Wayne, Ind.-based No. 765 is still in excursion service.

The high-resolution image measures 15" x 21" upon completion.  Also included is a poster that can be used as a handy reference during assembly.
