2022 Trains Calendar

Trains magazine has released this very colorful 12-month 10 1/2 x 13” 2022 train calendar that can double as a beautiful wall hanging, perhaps in your train room.

The large, colorful calendar starts off January with a photo of Union Pacific’s massive 4-8-8-4 #4014 Big Boy which was recently brought back to life in 2019 and which then toured the Western part of the United States. The Big Boy for this calendar was photographed at Brighton, Colorado. The February photo is of a Toledo, Peoria & Western black, orange and yellow diesel just after switching freight cars in Logansport, Indiana.

Another calendar photo is a dramatic shot of Kansas City Terminal rails at night at that city’s Union Station during a rain storm. A Canadian Pacific grain train is featured in the April photo as the train glides over rails in picturesque Alberta, Canada, while several trains from Union Pacific and BNSF pass over and under one another in a hard-to-get shot in Kansas City, Missouri.

Additional calendar photos feature a broadside shot of Union Pacific’s SD70AH No. 1943 Spirit of the Union Pacific that honors veterans, an up-close shot of Providence & Worcester’s SD70M-2 No. 4302 at Brattleboro, Vermont, and a nifty shot of Nevada Northern Railroad's #40 and #93 steamers resting outside of an on-line tunnel portal. In addition to the twelve photos, there is a page of questions and answers from Trains readers with accompanying color photos, as well as an explanation of rail sizes and rail profiles. In all, a smart line-up of trains to keep you company during 2022.
