Model Railroader has released its new, large format 12-month 10 1/2 x 13” 2022 calendar highlighted by large photographs. The 12 color photographs representing each of the months include Ron Morse’s HO Forks Creek & Central with a Pacific Fast Mail brass Heisler crossing Fall River Trestle (January); an N scale oil-burning Union Pacific Challenger on the Grand Road crossing a long trestle (February); and a colorful HO scale Milwaukee Road Fairbanks-Morse H10-44 diesel electric leading a transfer run (March). For April we see Richard Bourgerie’s and Warner Clark's Proto:48 O scale layout featuring a colorful Nickel Plate Road caboose tagged at the end of a train; an Amtrak California Zephyr with hi-level cars on Karl Sinn’s Z scale layout (May); a realistic scene from Bob Ferguson’s N scale Gauley & Shavers Fork N scale pike (June); and stunning HO scale Lehigh Valley Black Diamond and John Wilkes streamlined 4-6-2’s meeting at Demback in front of a Howard Zane-built passenger station (July).

For the August calendar photo Paul Dolkos provides a photo of a Pennsylvania class M1b 4-8-2 on John Johnson's 1955-era layout, while the September photo  features a close-up of a colorful Frisco Railroad diesel freight in HO. The October calendar spotlight falls on Denver & Rio Grande Western diesels of the California Zephyr stopping at Colorado Springs on the HO pike of David Powell, while the November photo depicts Norfolk & Western steam at Green Cove, Virginia in the 1950s on Gary Hoover’s HO layout. Last, for December, the Louisville & Nashville takes the final spotlight featuring an A-A set of Alco FA-2s with a freight train passing a station in Kentucky on John Bowling’s 25 x 48-foot HO layout.

In all, a very fine selection of model photos that can also be used afterward as wall hangings. At the end of the calendar, well-known modeler Tony Koester provides seven tips to help you with your modeling.
