I became “hooked” on American Flyer trains when I was a young boy in the 1950’s, when my father built a large S gauge pike, complete with towns, factories, industrial sidings, switching yards and automated accessories in our basement. In fact, that’s how many model railroaders of today got started. In Families and Electric Trains, we are shown 100 pages of stories, photos and memories of toy trains and explanations of how many of us became interested in and hooked on model railroading. Many readers of this publication will look back and remember how they got started.
Articles include “So Often the Fun Started with Dad,” "Four Generations of Train Lovers,” “Mom Switched one Boy from Flyer to Lionel,” “Bridging Generations with a Flyer Layout,” “Finally, Twin Sets for Dad and his Son” and others.
