Budd RDCs Vol 1

This Manufacturers' Catalog Archive is the first of two volumes featuring the Budd Rail Diesel Car (RDC).

Books in the Manufacturer's Catalog Archive compile promotional materials that were created by manufacturer's of the various locomotives and railroading products.  They have been digitally enhanced and have been reprinted on high quality coated paper.  They do not include any additional text or commentary.

Included in this volume are reproductions of 3 Budd publications on RDCs:

• Introducing RDC-1 - This publication details the design and features of the RDC-1.  Includes drawings of the car, a look at the engine, transmission, brakes, and performance of the cars.
• RDC Goes to Work - This is a look at the RDC's use on American and foreign railroads.  Included is a look at the early operators of the RDC and how they used them, the desgin and operation of the cars and the features of the RDCs.  Includes drawings fro the RDC-1, RDC-2, RDC-3, and RDC-4.
• RDC Comes of Age - This looks at the first 3 years of RDC usage.  Includes a look at how the RDC has improved service for the railroads that operate them, their performance, the reliability and economy of the cars, how the cars have increased traffic for the railroads, the components that make up the RDC and maintenance.
